Job description
The purpose of this position is to prioritize, investigate and solve problems and questions pertaining to system applications, networking, interfaces and data transmission as appropriate. Additionally, this position is the primary contact for PACS and responsible for operations of PACS equipment including image workflow, archiving, auto-routing, and prefetching and other related activities.
Basic Qualifications
- Associates degree or equivalent work experience, required
- Basic competency with Windows Server OS
- Basic competency with Windows Server
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, preferred
- 1+ year experience in a radiology department, required
- RIS/PACS system experience, required
- Epic Radiant, Cerner RadNet build experience, preferred
- Philips iSite experience, preferred
Essential Job Functions
- Work with IT team members, vendors and customers to coordinate project plans including timetables, testing, training, implementation dates and on PACS technical issues
- Expertise in Radiology Information System software
- Expertise in HL-7 standards, interfaces, and communication
- Expertise in report development from RIS
- Experience with DICOM
- Manage network transmission, Radiology Information Systems validation (RIS), and exceptions handling
- Train new staff and provide proactive training documentation for all new releases of RIS/PACS software
- Proficiency in customer satisfaction and communication
- Provide Radiology on call support to meet 24/7 needs of system users
- Document site-specific failure recovery and work around processes
- Engage in frequent in-person interaction with Radiology Department for collaboration on solutions
- Maintain and develop system security policies and procedures, and document system history.
- Perform archive maintenance, patient list clean up, image quality and calibration
- Monitors and maintain error logs, base folder access/creation, ensure system reliability
- Ensures that all department, hospital, and DNV guidelines are met for operation
- Subject matter expert for RIS and primary liaison to hospital partner
Other Job Functions
- Attend staff meetings or other company sponsored or mandated meetings as required
- Travel to all facility locations as required
- Up to 20% overnight travel
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Ability to work off-hours and on call when required
