Job description
We are seeking a skilled Linux & Windows Administrator with strong VMware and Cloud experience to manage enterprise server environments. The role requires hands-on expertise in Linux distributions (SUSE, Red Hat, Ubuntu, AWS Linux) and Windows Server platforms, along with experience in migrations, troubleshooting critical incidents (P1/P2), and ITIL-based operations., Core System Administration
- Provide L2 support for Solaris and Linux and L3 support for Windows operating systems, including troubleshooting, administration, and performance tuning
- Perform installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades across Solaris, Linux, and Windows environments
- Monitor and optimize system performance, resource utilization, and overall platform health
- Execute server provisioning, commissioning, and decommissioning for both physical and virtual systems
Incident & Service Management
- Manage incidents, service requests, and problem resolution in alignment with defined SLAs
- Handle P1/P2 critical incidents, perform root cause analysis, and ensure quick service restoration
- Follow ITIL processes (Incident, Request, Change, Problem Management)
Windows & Linux Expertise
- Strong experience with:
- Linux: RHEL, SUSE, Ubuntu, AWS Linux
- Windows: Server 2012, 2016, 2019/2022, and latest versions (2025 readiness)
- Perform OS upgrades and migration activities across platforms
VMware & Virtualization
- Provide L2 support for VMware infrastructure, including:
- Managing VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) environment
- Monitoring vCenter and ESXi hosts
- VM provisioning, configuration, and operations (power, snapshot, resource allocation)
- Handle routine alerts and initial issue troubleshooting
- Escalate complex issues to L3 with proper documentation
- Working knowledge of NSX-T and vSAN
Cloud & Backup Operations
- Manage and support server environments in AWS cloud platforms
- Support backup, restore, and recovery activities for servers and virtual machines
Requirements
- 5-10 years of experience in Linux & Windows system administration
- Strong troubleshooting skills for application and OS-level issues during outages
- Hands-on experience with VMware (vSphere, VCF, ESXi, vCenter)
- Experience with AWS cloud server management
- Strong understanding of OS migrations and upgrades
- ITIL process knowledge (Incident, Change, Problem Management)
Good to Have
- Knowledge of Solaris (secondary skill)
- Experience with automation tools (Shell scripting, Ansible, PowerShell, etc.)
- Exposure to enterprise monitoring and backup tools
Certification (Preferred)
- RHCE / RHCSA
- Microsoft Certified (Windows Server / Azure)
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
- ITIL Foundation
