Job description

Contract: 6-8 weeks starting early July 2026 Rate: $7,500/month Path: Contract-to-hire with equity after seed round (Q1 2027) Launch deadline: August 31, 2026 Location: Remote in US

You’ll work directly with the CTO to build and ship features that drive user growth and retention. Fast-paced role with a hard deadline.

WHAT YOU’LL BUILD

Core Features:

  • Shareable bet card system with social media integrations
  • Sportsbook deep linking and affiliate tracking
  • Friend discovery and social features
  • Push notification system
  • Performance optimizations and launch prep
  • UI polish and bug fixes based on QA feedback

TECH STACK

Mobile: Expo 54, React Native 0.81, TypeScript, TanStack React Query, Zustand, NativeWind, Supabase client SDK

Tools: EAS for builds, Sentry, PostHog, High Impact: First mobile hire. Features you build directly determine launch success. Reach thousands of users within weeks.

Real Growth: Hit retention and share targets * seed round at strong valuation. Early team gets meaningful equity.

Solid Foundation: Production infrastructure, monitoring, clear roadmap. Won’t inherit technical debt.

Proven Market: Social sports betting works (Sleeper, Underdog, PrizePicks). We’re building the Instagram of betting.

Requirements

Must Have:

  • 2+ years professional React Native experience (Expo preferred)
  • Shipped at least one app to App Store and Play Store
  • Strong TypeScript skills
  • Deep linking / universal links experience
  • Experience with TanStack Query or similar
  • Strong UI/UX implementation skills - can take Figma designs and implement pixel-perfect
  • Design sensibility - can make UI decisions independently and suggest improvements
  • Can work independently and move fast
  • Available to overlap 4+ hours with EST (9am-5pm)

Bonus Points:

  • Built social/sharing features in mobile apps
  • Experience with OG preview / unfurl systems
  • Portfolio showing UI polish and attention to detail
  • Worked at early-stage startup
  • Sports betting or fantasy sports app experience
  • Supabase Realtime or WebSocket experience
  • Experience with animations and micro-interactions

Not Required:

  • Backend experience (CTO handles backend)
  • Native iOS/Android (staying in Expo)
