Job description

At Data Science Lab, as a Data Engineer, you will work on challenging data projects, working closely with data scientists and data strategy consultants. You will develop end-to-end data solutions and create a solid data infrastructure in the cloud, which is essential for BI, machine learning and AI applications. Your responsibility is to build and maintain ETL pipelines and configure cloud services with DevOps principles. Using an innovative approach, we quickly set up data platforms, deploying technologies such as Azure, Databricks, DBT and Terraform.

Requirements

Naturally, you find our field very interesting. In addition, you are someone who is enterprising and eager to take on projects. Furthermore, we find it important that you:

  • Minimum of 3 years (medior) or 6 years (senior) demonstrable work experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Experience with programming in Python/pyspark and writing database queries in SQL.
  • Experience with version control (preferably Git).
  • Experience with accessing and integrating data via such things as APIs (REST/GraphQL), message queues and other data sources.
  • Experience designing, building and optimizing robust and scalable data pipelines, for both batch and streaming data.
  • Experience with data warehouse and data lake architectures and data modeling (Inmon, Kimball, data vault). You are able to develop scalable and well-structured data models that fit business needs.
  • Experience with at least one of the modern cloud data platforms: Databricks, Snowflake and/or Microsoft Azure data services (Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Synapse).
  • Demonstrated experience with at least one cloud platform (Azure, AWS or GCP).
  • Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
  • Experience applying best practices in data security and privacy.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform, Bicep) is a plus.
  • Good command of the Dutch language, both written and oral.

Are you missing some items from the list? No problem. We’re especially curious about who you are and what you bring to the table.

Benefits & conditions

We believe development and job satisfaction of our employees is most important!

To ensure that you continue to develop we have lab and tech days, what exactly these entail we would be happy to tell you in person! You can also choose to do data projects for charity. We attach great importance to fun and health, which is why we have a sports and party committee that organizes the annual winter sports and weekly sports activities.

In addition, we also offer:

  • A great challenge within a transparent organization with an appropriate salary based on your experience;
  • full travel reimbursement;
  • MacBook or Windows laptop of your choice;
  • a flexible retirement plan;
  • Lots of responsibility and flexible working hours/workplaces.
