Job description

We are seeking a Senior - Systems Engineer, Infrastructure, to join our Infrastructure team within the Information Technology department. This role is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining enterprise-grade infrastructure that spans virtualization, storage, hybrid cloud platforms, and backup/disaster recovery. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise across these domains combined with a proactive approach to risk reduction, compliance readiness, and driving measurable cost savings through smart architecture decisions., * Design implement, and maintain enterprise virtualization, storage, and server infrastructure supporting business-critical applications.

  • Architect and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions (e.g., Veeam, Zerto) to meet aggressive RPO/RTO targets and mitigate ransomware risk.
  • Lead infrastructure consolidation and migration projects (data centers, storage arrays, server platforms) with minimal to zero downtime.
  • Support hybrid cloud initiatives across AWS and/or Azure, including DR replication strategies.
  • Ensure infrastructure compliance with SOC 2, HIPAA, and HITRUST frameworks; partner with compliance and audit teams to maintain certification readiness.
  • Manage and optimize Windows Server and Linux environments, including OS upgrades and consolidation efforts.
  • Administer enterprise SharePoint, Active Directory, and email security/retention platforms.
  • Evaluate and negotiate vendor contracts and technology investments to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, documentation, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in budget planning and infrastructure roadmap development.

Requirements

This role is ideal for an experienced infrastructure engineer who thrives on solving complex technical problems in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment. Success in this role requires owning critical systems end-to-end, partnering closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-availability solutions, and mentoring junior engineers as part of a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement., * Have 7+ years of progressive experience in enterprise systems engineering or infrastructure architecture.

  • Have deep hands-on expertise with VMware ESX/vSphere virtualization (VCP certification preferred).
  • Have a strong background in enterprise storage platforms (Pure Storage, HPE, EMC, NetApp, or similar).
  • Have proven experience with backup and DR tooling (Veeam, Zerto, Tivoli Storage Manager, or equivalent).
  • Possess working knowledge of hybrid cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
  • Have experience supporting regulated environments and compliance frameworks (SOC 2, HIPAA, HITRUST or similar).
  • Possess solid Windows Server and Linux administration skills.
  • Have a track record of leading infrastructure projects from design through implementation with measurable cost or efficiency outcomes.
  • Have strong vendor management and budget/resource planning experience.
  • Possess excellent cross-functional communication and mentoring skills.
  • Have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • Have an MBA or relevant infrastructure/cloud certifications (preferred).
  • Have experience supporting healthcare IT environments and EHR systems (Epic, McKesson) (preferred).
  • Understand background in server hardware platforms (Dell, HPE, Cisco UCS, IBM) (preferred).
  • Have experience with Citrix or large-scale endpoint deployment (preferred).
  • Have a history of leading data center consolidations or zero-downtime migrations (preferred).
