Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to support mission-critical enterprise systems in a high-security federal environment. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience administering Oracle databases, performing database upgrades and migrations, optimizing database performance, implementing high availability solutions, and supporting production environments. This role requires strong expertise in Oracle technologies, automation, Linux administration, and database security.

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret Security Clearance (required; highly preferred to already be active)
  • CompTIA Security+ Certification
  • U.S. Citizenship (required)
  • Ability to work onsite, * 10+ years of hands-on Oracle Database Administration experience supporting large-scale production environments.
  • Strong experience administering Oracle Database 12c and 19c.
  • Proven expertise with Oracle GoldenGate (12.x, 18.x, 19.x).
  • Hands-on experience performing Oracle database upgrades to Oracle 19c.
  • Experience executing database platform migrations and modernization initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of Oracle Database architecture, Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and relational database concepts.
  • Extensive experience with Oracle PL/SQL, SQL performance tuning, and query optimization.
  • Experience with Oracle database performance analysis, troubleshooting, and tuning using Oracle performance tools.
  • Hands-on experience with database backup, recovery, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity.
  • Experience applying Oracle Critical Patch Updates (CPU), Release Updates (RU), and database security patches.
  • Experience automating database administration using Bash Shell, SQL, PL/SQL, or other scripting languages.
  • Minimum 7+ years administering Oracle RAC, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Amazon RDS environments, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of Linux administration, networking, storage technologies, and operating system security.
  • Experience monitoring database health, performance, availability, and capacity planning.
  • Ability to develop technical documentation, operational procedures, and implementation plans.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with application development, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and DevOps teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting cloud-hosted databases in AWS, including Amazon RDS.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, or CI/CD integration for database deployments.
  • Familiarity with database monitoring tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), OEM Cloud Control, Grafana, Prometheus, or similar platforms.
  • Experience supporting high-availability and disaster recovery architectures., * Database administration: 10 years (Required)
  • Oracle PL/SQL: 10 years (Required)

License/Certification:

  • CompTIA Security+ (Required)

  • Top Secret (Required)
