Job description
- Perform vulnerability assessments of operational and developmental systems to identify security weaknesses and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Analyze system configurations, security controls, and network architectures to assess risk and identify potential exploit paths.
- Conduct security analysis of hardware, software, operating systems, and network environments.
- Evaluate vulnerabilities using automated and manual analysis techniques and support remediation efforts.
- Collaborate with mission teams to assess system security and improve overall cybersecurity posture.
- Document technical findings and communicate risk assessments and mitigation recommendations.
- Support cybersecurity engineering activities through vulnerability analysis, risk assessment, and security best practices.
Requirements
- Experience performing system vulnerability assessments, security analysis, or cybersecurity engineering.
- Experience identifying, analyzing, and assessing system vulnerabilities and recommending mitigation strategies.
- Understanding of operating systems, network protocols, system architectures, and security controls.
- Experience with vulnerability assessment methodologies, security testing, and risk analysis.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity principles, network security, and system hardening.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex technical environments.
Level 1
- Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of relevant experience; OR
- Associate’s degree plus 4 years of relevant experience.
- Degree must be in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
- Relevant experience must include vulnerability assessment, system security analysis, penetration testing, network analysis, and/or cybersecurity engineering.
Level 2
- Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of relevant experience; OR
- Master’s degree plus 3 years of relevant experience; OR
- Doctoral degree plus 2 years of relevant experience; OR
- Associate’s degree plus 7 years of relevant experience.
- Degree requirements as outlined above.
Level 3
- Bachelor’s degree plus 8 years of relevant experience; OR
- Master’s degree plus 6 years of relevant experience; OR
- Doctoral degree plus 4 years of relevant experience; OR
- Associate’s degree plus 10 years of relevant experience.
- Degree requirements as outlined above.
Level 4
- Bachelor’s degree plus 11 years of relevant experience; OR
- Master’s degree plus 9 years of relevant experience; OR
- Doctoral degree plus 7 years of relevant experience; OR
- Associate’s degree plus 13 years of relevant experience.
