Job description

We are a growing IT services company looking for a motivated and experienced PART-TIME computer technician to help us expand our business by helping our IT customers in the Austin area. As a computer technician, you will be visiting customers on-site or remotely to help with IT needs and issues that arise., * Perform on-site diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance of computer systems, including hardware and software issues.

  • Troubleshoot network connectivity problems and resolve network-related issues.
  • Provide timely and effective remote assistance to clients via phone, email, or remote desktop tools.
  • Install and configure operating systems, software applications, and drivers.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their technical issues and provide appropriate solutions.
  • Educate clients on best practices for using technology and avoiding common problems.
  • Set up and maintain computer networks, including routers, switches, and access points.
  • Monitor system performance and respond to security breaches or vulnerabilities.
  • Keep track of work through detailed documentation and ticketing systems.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in the IT field.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Computer Technician or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, operating systems, and network troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with remote desktop applications and tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical individuals.
  • Relevant certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, etc.) are a plus, but not necessary.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for on-site support when required.
