Job description

Racct is building a marketplace app that makes buying, selling, pickup, and delivery easier, with the broader goal of reducing waste by helping more goods find their next owner.

We are looking for a senior product engineer who can work directly with the Racct team on the core Racct app. The immediate focus is a Flutter and Dart codebase that is being shared across mobile, Flutter Web, and a Jaspr web target. The right person is comfortable in a real production app, can preserve existing product behavior, and can move code toward cleaner shared domain logic without turning every task into a rewrite.

What You Will Work On

  • Build and refine marketplace flows across buying, selling, posting, chat, pickup, delivery, payments-adjacent previews, and account experiences.
  • Keep Flutter and Jaspr behavior aligned by extracting framework-agnostic Dart models, services, view-models, and utilities.
  • Improve shared UI and product patterns while preserving the existing Flutter app as the behavioral reference.
  • Work with Firebase, Firestore, Cloud Functions, storage, auth, notifications, maps/location, media upload, and recommendation-related app surfaces.
  • Add reliable tests around shared logic, edge cases, and user-facing workflows.
  • Help shape agent-assisted marketplace workflows where users can draft, compare, preview, and confirm actions without bypassing safety, payment, posting, or messaging rules.

Requirements

  • Strong Flutter and Dart experience in production apps.
  • Good judgment around product behavior, mobile responsiveness, and user-facing quality.
  • Ability to read an existing codebase, make minimal high-leverage changes, and avoid unnecessary rewrites.
  • Comfort with Firebase-backed apps, async state, Firestore data modeling, and API/service boundaries.
  • Experience keeping web and mobile behavior consistent from shared business logic.
  • Clear written communication and a bias toward small, reviewable, working changes.

Nice To Have

  • Jaspr or other Dart web experience.
  • Marketplace, logistics, local commerce, social, or messaging product experience.
  • Firebase Functions, Node/TypeScript, Cloud Run, or production observability experience.
  • Search, recommendations, ranking, or lightweight ML integration experience.
  • Experience building agent or AI-assisted product flows with explicit confirmations and auditability.

How We Work

This is hands-on product engineering. You should be able to pick up a user-facing flow, understand what the app currently does, improve it, and leave the shared code cleaner. The current engineering direction is to consolidate duplicated Flutter and Jaspr behavior into shared Dart while keeping both targets in lockstep.

We prefer practical engineering, concise communication, and changes that can be tested and shipped. This is not a role for broad rewrites without a clear product payoff.

Engagement

Contract, part-time, full-time, or contract-to-hire can all be considered depending on fit and availability. Remote is fine; overlap with US time zones is preferred.
