Job description
Job Summary: The Technical Writer will create and maintain a variety of documentation needed for our internal software systems. They will collaborate closely with product developers and production teams to understand our products and advocate for the end-user, ensuring the audience can successfully utilize our technology., * Create, edit, and maintain technical documentation for internal software systems, hardware, and business processes, including user guides, work instructions, release notes, and system documentation.
- Develop customer-facing and internal documentation that supports product implementation, system usage, training, and user adoption.
- Research, gather, and validate technical information by collaborating with subject matter experts and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure documentation is accurate, complete, and current.
- Manage document lifecycle activities, including certification documentation, document updates, version control, and change management.
- Coordinate with business stakeholders to develop training materials and supporting documentation for new systems, processes, and product enhancements.
- Proofread and review documentation to ensure accuracy, consistency, clarity, and compliance with company documentation standards and style guidelines.
- Utilize documentation, content management, diagramming, screen capture, and editing tools to produce high-quality technical content.
- Monitor documentation effectiveness through user feedback and analytics, continuously improving content to enhance the user experience and support business needs.
- Maintain documentation libraries and ensure technical content remains organized, accessible, and up to date.
- Support other documentation and knowledge management initiatives as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Communications, English, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of experience in technical writing, document control, quality documentation, or a related role.
- Experience creating, editing, and maintaining technical documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, user guides, system documentation, and product specifications.
- Strong knowledge of document control, change management, version control, quality review, and documentation standards.
- Excellent technical writing, editing, proofreading, organizational, and communication skills, with proficiency in document creation software and the ability to quickly learn new systems and processes.
Preferred:
- Experience with modern documentation and publishing tools.
Job Setting / Environment:
- This position is performed in an environmentally controlled building. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and computer usage.
