Job description

A-Team Solutions is seeking highly qualified Scientific Program Managers (Levels I-VI) to support the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) in Rockville, Maryland. This position provides scientific and programmatic support for vaccine development programs, with a particular emphasis on GMP manufacturing compliance, research portfolio management, program evaluation, strategic planning, and scientific grant oversight.

The ideal candidate will possess strong scientific expertise, excellent analytical abilities, and experience supporting biomedical research, grants management, scientific program administration, or vaccine development initiatives., Scientific Program Management

  • Support the planning, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of scientific programs and research initiatives.
  • Coordinate projects from inception through completion, including monitoring schedules, funding, deliverables, and outcomes.
  • Conduct scientific reviews, portfolio analyses, and program evaluations to assess effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and implement short- and long-term goals that strengthen research programs and strategic initiatives.

Research & Grant Analysis

  • Evaluate and critique scientific research proposals and funding applications.
  • Perform scientific and administrative reviews of grant applications from a programmatic perspective.
  • Analyze scientific strengths, weaknesses, technical approaches, study design, and overall research impact.
  • Interact with investigators and researchers to provide technical guidance and help overcome scientific challenges.

Strategic Planning & Program Development

  • Assist with developing, refining, and launching new research funding concepts and initiatives.
  • Develop scientific planning, evaluation processes, project timelines, and implementation strategies.
  • Support leadership in creating future strategic plans and research priorities.
  • Recommend improvements to policies, procedures, and organizational processes.

Scientific Communications & Collaboration

  • Organize and participate in technical meetings, workshops, consultations, and multidisciplinary research discussions.
  • Prepare meeting summaries, reports, presentations, analyses, and status updates.
  • Develop educational and training materials to support program awareness and implementation.
  • Collaborate with scientific, administrative, and management staff across multiple programs and initiatives.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Public Health, Community Health, Biomedical Science, Life Sciences, Immunology, Microbiology, Public Policy, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Knowledge of NIH grants, funding mechanisms, and biomedical research programs.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong analytical, scientific writing, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with researchers, scientific leadership, and stakeholders., * Experience supporting vaccine development programs.
  • Familiarity with GMP manufacturing requirements and regulatory environments.
  • Experience reviewing scientific proposals, grants, contracts, or research portfolios.
  • Background supporting NIH, HHS, academic, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or federal research programs.
  • Experience coordinating complex scientific initiatives and multidisciplinary teams., * Master’s (Preferred), * NIH Grants and funding Mechanism: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Scientific Program Manager: 1 year (Preferred)
  • vaccine manufacturing or related: 1 year (Preferred)
