Job description

  • Install data racks according to specifications. Build and install rack shelves. Install equipment, ensuring proper setup and stability.

  • Terminate and test data, audio, and radio cables at data rack locations, ensuring system integrity.

  • Perform basic soldering tasks.

  • Install workstation faceplates.

  • Per CAD drawings, install camera mounts and assist in the installation of roof hardware, including antennas and satellite systems.

  • Learn, understand, and perform electrical pull sheets, wiring diagrams, electrical concepts, processes, and theories of 120VAC and 12VDC.

  • Complete other duties as assigned., + Partially environmentally controlled indoor area with temperatures fluctuating between 60°F and 100°F, typically maintained around 70°F.

  • Occasional outdoor work required.

  • Exposure to noise levels ranging from low to loud; safety hearing devices provided as needed.

  • Possible exposure to household and commercial chemicals; adherence to safety protocols outlined in Safety Data Sheets (SDS) required.

  • Mandatory wearing of OSHA-approved safety eyewear and closed-toed shoes at all times on the production floor.

  • Use of additional personal protective equipment (PPE), such as respirators or protective coveralls, may be necessary for specific tasks.

Requirements

The IT Installation Technician l is an entry-level position, responsible for the accurate installation and configuration of IT-related hardware as outlined in CAD and engineering specifications, requiring the execution of detailed tasks. Team collaboration is essential, as technicians must uphold Nomad’s core values, communicate effectively, and adapt to changing project requirements. The position requires a basic understanding of electronics, proficiency in Microsoft Suite, and the ability to handle physically demanding tasks in various work environments., + Basic understanding of computers and electronics, particularly multiband radios, A/V systems.

  • Basic soldering ability.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.

  • Ability to understand and accurately follow detailed technical instructions and diagrams.

  • Demonstrated strong team-oriented and responsible behaviors, contributing positively to collaborative work settings.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Regular use of hands and arms to manipulate, handle, feel, reach, or operate objects, tools, or controls.

  • Frequent standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, sitting, and crawling.

  • Frequently lift/move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Assistance required for anything heavier than 50 pounds.

  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus and distinguish colors.

  • Must have the physical stamina to work in awkward positions and stand for prolonged periods., + High school diploma or GED; further education in a technical field preferred.

  • 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing or IT-related setting preferred.

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license in good standing.
