Job description

The analyst will bridge the gap between secure infrastructure design and rapid threat response. This roll will be responsible for designing resilient network paths, maintaining perimeter defenses, and helping to orchestrate centralized threat detection. Will serve as a tier-2 or tier-3 responder, utilizing advanced logging platforms to hunt for threats and minimize organizational risks., Secure Network Architecture & Defense

  • Infrastructure Design: Architect, scale, and optimize secure local and wide-area networks (LAN/WAN) using secure topology design rules.
  • Firewall Operations: Configure, manage, and audit Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW) to enforce security policies and traffic segmentation.
  • Threat Surface Reduction: Implement secure routing protocols, access control lists (ACLs), and Zero Trust network boundaries.

Centralized Logging & Incident Response

  • SIEM Management: Maintain and build custom parsing rules, dashboards, and stream alerts inside the Graylog platform to ingest logs from all endpoints and network hardware.
  • Threat Hunting: Analyze complex traffic captures, flow logs, and Graylog streams to proactively hunt for network anomalies and indicators of compromise (IoCs).
  • Incident Lifecycle Execution: Drive the technical containment, eradication, and recovery phases during active cybersecurity incidents.
  • Forensic Investigation: Conduct post-incident root-cause analysis by tracing network movements across historical firewall and system logs.

Requirements

  • Experience: 1 year of blended experience in network engineering, infrastructure architecture, application development/scripting, and incident handling roles.

Preferred Technologies

  • Base knowledge of Virtual Server Environments such as VMWare/Proxmox
  • Base knowledge of Virtual Backup Environment (Tape/Image snapshots)
  • Understanding of Basic Network Segmentation techniques (VLANs, IP Segmentation)
  • Base knowledge of Network Sharing (NFS, SMB, Samba …)
  • Base understanding of Virtual Private Networks (VPN)
  • Base understanding of ICS/SCADA Technologies
  • Base understanding of Zero Trust environments
  • Base understanding of Windows/Linux environments including Windows Server 2022, Windows 11, Windows Server 2025, Debian, Redhat, Arch
  • Base understanding of DNS management
  • Base understanding of Scripting languages, including Java script, python, Microsoft …
  • Base understanding of Cisco Switches and use of CLI
  • Base understanding of VLAN Trunking

Preferred Certifications

  • Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator (PCNSA) or Engineer (PCNSE)
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • CompTIA Security +, Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+) or GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH), Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems; equivalent work experience and training may be substituted. At least 1 year experience in a cybersecurity, computer support, network administration, scripting, application development, or system administration position., Some climbing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting (20 lbs, occasionally up to 50 lbs), fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, repetitive motions, fine motor skills., Must have or be able to obtain certification in security from recognized organizations such as CompTIA Security+ or better.
