Job description

The MYLAPS Software Engineering team is growing fast. Currently it consists of 25 developers with different types of expertise, and the team is still growing. Our department is focusing on the following products and platforms:

  • Motorsports (Speedhive)
  • Active Sports (Sporthive)
  • New application & platform development

What you’ll do: To guide the developers we are looking for a Teamlead Software Development that will focus on all Back-End development activities for Active Sports platform and our Results Platforms (Speedhive and Sporthive). Our software is being used by millions of users during Major events such as Marathons, Triathlons, Cycling and also Motorizes racing such as INDYCAR.

We are looking for a sports enthusiast who is able to lead and grow two software development teams of 5 and 6 people. You will get the full ownership and responsibility of these teams with a strong focus on the management of ongoing projects, recruitment, people management and personal growth. With your technical understanding you are able to guide, coach and challenge our developers in making the right decisions in all software development activities.

The current tech-stack that the team is working with includes: Java/Springboot, Typescript/Vue.js, Azure, Redis, SQL, iOS Swift, Android Kotlin. Since we like to understand what our software means to sporters, this position offers the chance to visit small and large scale sporting events to fully understand the accuracy and meaning of our software.

Requirements

5+ years of hand-on experience within software engineering, with any common tech-stack. Experience in leading one or more software developments teams. The ability to report and explain about ongoing projects to internal and external stakeholders. Able to challenge and reason with the team on technical solutions. Strong (technical) communication skills in English (Dutch is a plus). Strong stakeholder management and coaching skills. Passion for technology and sport.
