Senior DevSecOps Engineer :: Levittown, NY 11756 - onsite with hybrid (remote after 3months)

The Senior DevSecOps Software Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing secure DevOps processes that support the software development lifecycle for embedded systems. This role focuses on CI/CD automation, infrastructure management, security integration, and collaboration across engineering teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure software solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines that automate the build, testing, and deployment of embedded software applications.
• Integrate DevSecOps practices and security tools into CI/CD pipelines to automate security scanning, compliance validation, and vulnerability assessments.
• Partner with software development, cybersecurity, operations, and product teams to embed automation and security throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Develop, maintain, and improve CI/CD workflows, automation frameworks, and deployment processes.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for CI/CD pipelines, automation tools, and DevSecOps best practices.
• Provide technical guidance and training to engineering teams on CI/CD, DevSecOps methodologies, and automation strategies.
• Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve issues related to CI/CD pipelines, automation tools, infrastructure, and deployment processes.
• Develop and maintain automated infrastructure supporting unit testing, component testing, integration testing, and system verification.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to increase efficiency, reliability, scalability, and security.
• Support project planning by providing schedule estimates, technical input, and cost analysis for DevSecOps initiatives.

Required Qualifications * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience implementing DevOps and DevSecOps practices.
• 5+ years of experience developing automation using Python or comparable scripting languages.
• Experience designing and deploying CI/CD and DevSecOps solutions within on-premises environments.
• Strong experience with modern CI/CD platforms and tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, Git Bash, Jira, and Artifactory.
• Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform.
• Experience with configuration management and automation platforms including Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• Solid understanding of the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications * Experience supporting real-time embedded systems.

• Experience implementing automated testing strategies for embedded software.
• Knowledge of secure software development practices and DevSecOps methodologies.
• Experience working in highly regulated or mission-critical development environments.
