Job description

The IT Logistics Support Specialist I facilitates the procurement, distribution, management, configuration, collection, and service of all KCPS District IT equipment.

What You’ll Be Doing: (Responsibilities)

Incumbents may perform any combination of the essential functions shown below. This position description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, knowledge, or abilities associated with this classification, but is intended to accurately reflect the essential job functions and responsibilities.

  • Provide exceptional customer service proactively to all students and staff.
  • Provide support to move IT equipment throughout the district using KCPS vehicles.
  • Deploy and maintain operating systems and software titles using Mobile Device Management tools, such as Mosyle, Apple School Manager, and Microsoft Intune.
  • Research and implement preventative maintenance procedures for district technology devices.
  • Follow procedures to move, add, change, and update equipment in the Asset Management inventory system.
  • Receive, organize and store inventory.
  • Provide support during device refresh projects, student, and staff deployment events.
  • Thoroughly troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment and processes for warranty repairs.
  • Lead and/or participate in special technology projects as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Knowledge and experience with hardware warranty procedures.
  • Knowledge of desktops, laptops, tablets, displays and other common peripheral devices.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to educate users on new software, hardware, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs up to a height of 4 feet occasionally.
  • Current driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle for travel in district (mileage reimbursement provided)

In Order to #LevelUp in This Role, You’ll Need: (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Knowledge of ITIL processes.
  • Service Management and Asset Management tools.
  • Experience with large-scale technology deployments.
  • Experience with Mobile Device Management tools (Mosyle, Microsoft Intune)

Physical Demands:

This job requires that the employee be able to: sit, stand, walk, speak, hear, use hands, fingers, and reach with hands and fingers; bend, stoop, and lift objects of at least ten pounds. The job requires the employee to occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Visual ability requires mono and color vision, close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Note: This position requires the ability to lift up to 40lbs up to a height of 4 feet occasionally.

Benefits & conditions

Length of work year: In person; 12 months, 7.5 hours per day/ 5 days per week; 260 work days

Benefits: Health and Dental Insurance are provided. KCPS Defined Benefit Pension plan - mandatory 9% contribution is required from employees and matched by KCPS; Voluntary retirement savings plans are also available.
