Job description

  • Develop detailed mechanical and system designs using CAD software such as SolidWorks and Schematics tools.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to identify issues within existing designs or systems, proposing effective solutions.
  • Utilise simulation software including MATLAB and Simulink to model system behaviours and validate design concepts.
  • Design control systems incorporating Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and utilise LabVIEW for data acquisition and control applications.
  • Apply GD&T principles to ensure manufacturing feasibility and quality standards are met.
  • Perform system design tasks, integrating mechanical components with electronic controls to optimise performance.
  • Create detailed technical documentation, including schematics, drawings, and reports for project handovers.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of design elements into final products or systems.

  • Solid understanding of GD&T standards for precise mechanical component specification.
  • Mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics effectively.
  • Expertise in system design, encompassing both hardware layout and control logic development.
  • Analytical skills including root cause analysis to troubleshoot design or system issues efficiently.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment.
