Job description

The Business Intelligence Analyst provides advanced analytical support for research intelligence and clinical trial performance analytics within the University of Florida College of Medicine’s research enterprise. This position is responsible for extracting, analyzing, and synthesizing complex institutional data to generate actionable insights that support strategic planning, research operations, and portfolio management.

Working collaboratively with senior leadership and key stakeholders, the Business Intelligence Analyst develops and delivers timely, accurate, and meaningful analyses to inform institutional decision-making related to resource allocation, clinical research performance, and research strategy., * Extract and integrate complex data from multiple institutional systems, including Snowflake, NIH RePORTER, OnCore, UFIRST, and other research data sources.

  • Develop and maintain data pipelines to support ongoing analytical reporting requirements.
  • Ensure data quality, accuracy, and integrity across all analytical products. Document data sources, transformations, and methodologies.

Clinical Trial Analytics

  • Analyze clinical trial activation timelines, performance metrics, and operational efficiency.
  • Develop metrics and dashboards to track clinical research performance against institutional and national benchmarks.
  • Support campus-wide priority for enhanced clinical trial visibility and performance improvements.

Research Portfolio Analysis

  • Conduct in-depth analyses of faculty research portfolios, funding trends, and competitive positioning.
  • Support strategic intelligence requests from department chairs and research leadership.
  • Analyze research space utilization and productivity metrics.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and three years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience., * MBA, Master’s in Information Science, or Master’s degree in similar field

  • Experience working with academic research data
  • Experience with SQL, Python, and JavaScript
