Job description
We’re looking for a DevOps Engineer who can bring clarity and consistency to our Azure DevOps environment, improve how we release and operate software, and support both our modern Enterprise platform and legacy systems that remain critical to our business.
This is not a maintenance role. This is an opportunity to build, improve, and influence how our engineering organization operates.
Why This Role Matters
- Help stabilize and scale a growing SaaS platform
- Bring structure to how we build, deploy, and release software
- Reduce operational risk and improve system reliability
- Elevate the development team through better tools and practices
- Play a key role in bridging Product, Engineering, and IT
What You’ll Do
Own and Improve Our Azure DevOps Environment
- Design, build, and maintain Azure DevOps (ADO) pipelines
- Improve release processes to be predictable, repeatable, and low-risk
- Establish deployment visibility and traceability across environments (dev, pre-prod, production)
- Reduce reliance on manual steps and individual knowledge
Strengthen Release and Deployment Practices
- Standardize how code moves from development to production
- Partner with engineering to improve branching, merging, and release workflows
- Support regression and release readiness processes
- Help the team ship with confidence and consistency
Improve Monitoring, Reliability, and Response
- Implement and refine monitoring, logging, and alerting (Azure Monitor, Application Insights, etc.)
- Identify and resolve system performance or reliability issues
- Improve incident response and recovery processes
- Support post-release and post-incident learnings
Support Infrastructure and Environment Consistency
- Help manage and standardize cloud environments in Azure
- Introduce or improve infrastructure-as-code practices where appropriate
- Ensure consistency across environments and deployments
- Support scaling as product usage grows
- Administer and maintain Windows Server environments across dev, pre-prod, and production, including patching, performance monitoring, and configuration management
- Manage DNS records, domain registrations, and SSL/TLS certificate lifecycle across all company-owned domains
- Maintain and manage vendor accounts, software subscriptions, and third-party service credentials, including onboarding, renewals, and access control
Work Across Modern and Legacy Systems
- Support DevOps practices across both Enterprise and legacy systems
- Help reduce friction between older and newer systems
- Bring consistency and stability across a mixed environment
This is a practical environment - not everything is greenfield, and your ability to navigate that matters.
Elevate the Team
- Guide developers on DevOps best practices and operational awareness
- Help the team adopt scalable and reliable patterns
- Influence how we build, release, and support software
- Act as a go-to resource for DevOps and operational questions
This role does not require formal management, but it does require leadership through expertise.
Requirements
- 4-7+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or similar role
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure DevOps (ADO), including pipelines and release management
- Experience working within Azure cloud environments
- Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools
- Scripting or automation experience (PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar)
- Experience working closely with development teams
Preferred
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM, Bicep)
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes/AKS)
- Experience improving release processes at a team or organizational level
- Experience working in a SaaS environment
- Experience supporting both modern and legacy systems
- Familiarity with CIS benchmarks and system hardening practices; experience with security administration tools a plus
What Sets You Apart
- You bring structure to environments that are not fully defined
- You focus on improving systems, not just maintaining them
- You take ownership of problems and follow through to resolution
- You communicate clearly across technical and non-technical teams
- You are comfortable influencing teams without formal authority, Must be willing to undergo a background check/drug screening in accordance with local law/regulations. This position requires a valid driver’s license.
