Job description

  • Will be involved in all product stages including initial application specifications, material estimates, design and development, manufacturing, and final testing

Requirements

Crew Seating is seeking a detail-oriented and innovative Junior Design Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the design, development, and testing of marine seating and furniture components, often working under senior engineers to bring concepts from design to production. This role involves creating 3D models and 2D technical drawings, ensuring, material selection and in many cases, Hands-on-prototype fabrication. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure our products meet the highest quality standards, align with customer needs, and maintain Crew Seating’s reputation for exceptional marine furniture., * Team player mentality

  • Dependable Clear Communicator, * Create and manage detailed Bill Of Materials, part setup, and product revisions.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD software.
  • Organizational skills for managing multiple projects, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot design issues, finding solutions that enhance product performance and reduce production challenges.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including production and quality assurance, to Ensure designs meet product requirements and manufacturing standards.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, with a focus on refining designs and processes based on feedback and testing results.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Physical ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs as needed., * Product Design
  • SolidWorks: 1 year (preferred)
  • ExactFlat: 1 year (preferred)

Education

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (preferred).
  • Equivalent experience in product design or engineering.
