Job description

Job Description: The IT Support Specialist is responsible for supporting the company’s day-to-day technology needs, including managing company Outlook and Google accounts, setting up employee work phones and laptops, troubleshooting employee technology issues, and maintaining reliable access to business systems. This role serves as a primary point of contact for employee technology support, coordinates equipment setup and returns, assists with onboarding and offboarding technology needs, and helps maintain secure and organized technology processes across the company., Account & System Administration

  • Manage company Outlook, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and related user accounts, including setup, changes, password resets, permissions, and deactivation.
  • Maintain accurate records of employee technology access, assigned devices, software licenses, and account status.
  • Support secure access practices by assisting with multi-factor authentication, password management, and timely removal of access when employees separate from the company.

Device Setup & Employee Support

  • Set up, configure, and issue employee work phones, laptops, email accounts, applications, and other required technology tools.
  • Prepare technology for new hires and coordinate device collection, account deactivation, and equipment tracking during offboarding.
  • Provide clear instructions and basic training to employees on company devices, email access, software, and technology procedures.

Troubleshooting & Help Desk Support

  • Respond to employee technology issues in a timely and professional manner, including problems with email, phones, laptops, internet connectivity, printers, software, and account access.
  • Diagnose routine hardware, software, and user access issues, resolve problems when possible, and escalate complex issues to outside vendors or leadership as needed.
  • Track recurring issues and recommend practical solutions to improve reliability, efficiency, and the employee technology experience.

Technology Inventory & Vendor Coordination

  • Maintain an organized inventory of company laptops, phones, accessories, software licenses, and related technology assets.
  • Coordinate equipment repairs, replacements, warranty claims, mobile carrier needs, and vendor support requests as directed.
  • Assist with purchasing recommendations for technology equipment and supplies based on business needs and approved processes.

Security, Documentation & Process Improvement

  • Follow company technology, confidentiality, and data security procedures when handling devices, accounts, passwords, and employee information.
  • Create and maintain basic technology documentation, checklists, and user guides for common employee support needs.
  • Assist with special technology projects, system updates, and other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, mobile devices, laptops, printers, basic networking, and standard business applications.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose routine hardware, software, connectivity, and account access issues.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate technical information clearly to employees with varying levels of technology experience.
  • Strong organization, follow-through, and attention to detail when tracking devices, accounts, support requests, and documentation.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow secure practices when handling company systems, passwords, devices, and employee information.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple requests, respond calmly under pressure, and provide timely support in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-solving mindset with a willingness to learn new systems, research solutions, and recommend practical technology improvements., * High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree, technical training, or coursework in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience in IT support, help desk support, technical support, device setup, or a closely related role preferred.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Windows laptops, mobile devices, and common office technology preferred.
