Job description

Carolina Community Group (CCG) is seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Information Technology (IT) Specialist to support and enhance the organization’s technology infrastructure. This is a Temp to Hire hybrid position based in Charlotte, NC, requiring 25-30 hours per week. The IT Specialist will be responsible for software implementation and configuration, system administration, equipment deployment, cybersecurity, network support, technology planning, and technical assistance for staff. This position plays a key role in ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of technology systems that support daily operations while supporting strategic technology initiatives across the organization.

Duties

  • Configure, install, and maintain company software, applications, and cloud-based platforms.
  • Provide technical support to employees for hardware, software, email, printers, mobile devices, and network connectivity.
  • Set up and deploy computers, laptops, monitors, phones, printers, scanners, and other technology equipment.
  • Configure user accounts, permissions, email access, and security settings within Microsoft 365 and other business systems.
  • Monitor the performance of company software, servers, and network resources to ensure maximum uptime.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues in a timely manner.
  • Assist with the development, implementation, and enhancement of internal software solutions and automated workflows.
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify technology improvements that increase organizational efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, technology procedures, and user guides.
  • Implement and monitor cybersecurity best practices, including multi-factor authentication (MFA), endpoint protection, password management, and user access controls.
  • Monitor systems for security vulnerabilities and respond to potential cybersecurity threats.
  • Assist with backup management, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity initiatives.
  • Manage software licensing, updates, and patch management.
  • Coordinate technology projects, software upgrades, and system implementations.
  • Maintain inventory of technology equipment and software assets.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, privacy regulations, and organizational security policies.
  • Train employees on software applications, cybersecurity awareness, and technology best practices.
  • Research and recommend new technologies that improve operational performance.
  • Work with third-party vendors and technology providers to resolve technical issues and implement new solutions.
  • Perform other technology-related duties as assigned., * Part-Time Hybrid Position (25-30 hours per week)
  • Combination of in-office and remote work based on business needs and approved work schedule.
  • Regular business hours are Monday through Friday, with occasional evening or weekend work required for system upgrades, maintenance, or emergency support.
  • Must be available to provide on-site technical support for equipment installations, onboarding, and technology-related projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience providing IT support in a business environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 administration, including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Entra ID (Azure Active Directory).
  • Experience configuring Windows computers and common business software.
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and wireless networking.
  • Experience with cybersecurity principles, endpoint protection, and multi-factor authentication.
  • Ability to troubleshoot software and hardware issues independently.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
