Job description

The GIS Field Technician (Local) is part of the GIS Team and reports directly to the Project Manager. The primary responsibilities of this role are to work safely, accurately collect and input data into mobile applications, and consistently support field audit projects efficiently and effectively., This position is part of a eight-person data collection team working in the City of Marysville and surrounding areas to collect streetlight data. The project is expected to last approximately six weeks with a planned start date of August 3rd. Successful candidates will be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) during regular business hours for the duration of the project., * Safely, accurately, and efficiently collect field data on existing assets (e.g., street lighting fixtures, signs, sidewalks) using mobile applications (e.g., Collector, Field Maps)

  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with Evari staff
  • Adhere to Evari’s three core priorities in the following order:
  • Safety
  • Data Quality and Accuracy
  • Efficiency and Effectiveness
  • Always practice proper safety measures in the field, including wearing personal protective equipment
  • Maintain safe driving practices
  • Comply with all Evari GIS and client safety protocols
  • Ensure data accuracy through meticulous field observation
  • Properly handle and care for Evari equipment, including vehicles, tablets, GPS units, rangefinders, and measuring tools
  • Communicate daily with team members, project leads, and Evari staff regarding work progress
  • Accurately log work hours using company time-tracking software
  • Represent Evari professionally when interacting with members of the public
  • Use digital tools such as Google Email, Calendar, Drive, Chat, and GIS applications to coordinate and communicate with the team

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or working toward degree
  • Basic understanding of GIS concepts or the motivation to learn quickly
  • Enthusiasm for delivering high-quality work
  • Positive attitude and drive for career growth
  • Professional demeanor in all internal and public interactions
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and apply information from a field manual
  • Strong communication skills, * Detail-oriented team player
  • Genuine interest in GIS and adding value to projects
  • Willingness to take on responsibilities outside of the standard job description
  • Comfortable working with G Suite applications (e.g., Gmail, Calendar, Drive), * Valid driver’s license and active insurance
  • Reliable transportation to and from the work area each day
  • Ability to drive and walk for up to 8 hours per day
