Job description

Meridian WireWorks is seeking a Junior Network Infrastructure Technician to support commercial network infrastructure deployments throughout Virginia, Maryland, and Washington DC.

This is an entry-level to early-career field role for someone interested in learning network infrastructure installation, wireless access point deployment, rack-and-stack work, cabling, terminations, documentation, and commercial technology rollouts.

The role will work under the direction of experienced technicians and site leads. The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-minded, willing to learn, and interested in building a long-term career in network infrastructure, low voltage, telecommunications, or commercial technology deployment work.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist with wireless access point installations and replacements
  • Assist with network equipment installation, rack-and-stack work, and MDF/IDF organization
  • Pull and route cabling for wireless access points and network equipment
  • Learn to terminate and test Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A cabling
  • Label cables, equipment, patch panels, and work areas according to project standards
  • Assist with cable management and jobsite organization
  • Assist with material staging, cleanup, and closeout tasks
  • Take photos and assist with project documentation
  • Follow safety requirements, customer site rules, and company procedures
  • Learn proper installation standards, tool use, documentation practices, and customer-site professionalism

Requirements

  • Interest in network infrastructure, low voltage, telecommunications, electrical, construction, or technology field work
  • Reliable transportation
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Willingness to learn hands-on technical skills
  • Ability to follow directions and work safely
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work from ladders
  • Ability to travel throughout Virginia, Maryland, and Washington DC, * Previous low-voltage, electrical, construction, telecom, IT, security, CCTV, or cable installation experience
  • Basic hand tool experience
  • OSHA 10 certification
  • Trade school, technical training, or military technical experience
  • Interest in growing into a Network Infrastructure Technician role
  • Willingness to travel for regional deployments as opportunities arise

Employment Requirements

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check and motor vehicle record review.

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
