Job description
- Administer, monitor, and maintain Azure SQL and Microsoft SQL Server database environments.
- Design and support high-availability solutions, including replication, backup, restore, encryption, and disaster recovery.
- Lead database migration, upgrade, and modernization initiatives across cloud environments.
- Monitor Azure workspaces, virtual machines, storage, memory, and overall database performance.
- Perform database performance tuning, optimization, and capacity planning.
- Develop and maintain technical architecture and database documentation using Microsoft Visio.
- Define and implement data retention policies, storage strategies, and automation processes.
- Ensure database hardware and software remain current with patches and upgrades.
- Support deployments across Development, QA, Staging, and Production environments.
- Partner with QA teams on issue resolution, change control, and production support.
- Troubleshoot database and application integration issues across multiple environments.
- Assist operations and development teams with production support and database-related incidents.
Requirements
Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Azure Database Administrator (Azure DBA) to support and maintain enterprise database environments. This role is responsible for ensuring database availability, performance, security, disaster recovery, and modernization initiatives across cloud and on-premises platforms. The ideal candidate has strong Azure SQL expertise, database migration experience, and a proven ability to support high-availability production systems., * Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of database administration experience supporting Microsoft SQL Server environments.
- Strong experience with Azure SQL in multi-region configurations.
- 2+ years of experience performing database migrations, upgrades, modernization initiatives, and performance tuning across Azure IaaS and PaaS environments.
- Experience with Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and SQL Server on Azure Virtual Machines.
- Strong experience with database performance tuning, backup and recovery, failover, and disaster recovery.
- Experience monitoring Azure virtual machines, storage, memory utilization, and infrastructure health.
- Proficiency creating technical documentation and architecture diagrams using Microsoft Visio.
- Experience supporting enterprise production environments and resolving complex database issues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong understanding of relational database theory and database design principles.
- Experience with NoSQL databases, including Cosmos DB.
- Experience with PostgreSQL or other open-source databases.
- Knowledge of Azure cloud architecture and database storage optimization strategies.
- Experience implementing database security, encryption, and compliance best practices.
