Job description

Position will be used to conduct on-going recruitment and will remain active until position is filled. Applicant lists may be screened more than once. Why does the job exist?

This is the sole IT position at SPO that provides IT support to all SPO employees. How does it get done?

Duties of this position include:

  • Providing technical support to SPO employees
  • Oversee current hardware, software, and technical equipment
  • Website maintenance
  • System and Network coordination
  • Perform IT Security functions
  • Assist with strategic planning and oversee technology inventory

Who are the customers?

Employees of the State Personnel Office.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology, Engineering, or similar technical degree and two (2) years of experience in systems administration. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education and experience. Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment. Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive phone and personal computer usage. Direct client interaction and some travel may be required. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle. Supplemental Information
