This role also supports environments that rely heavily on sports-related data, including systems that power pricing, inventory, analytics, and in-store experiences. While this is not a data engineering role, the Director of IT must ensure the reliability, accuracy, and operational readiness of systems that consume, display, or depend on sports-driven datasets.

  1. Identity & Access Management * Administer Google Workspace and identity systems * Configure access controls, permissions, and account lifecycle management * Implement MFA, RBAC, and other security best practices

  2. Endpoint & Device Management * Deploy and manage MDM solutions across all devices * Execute patching, updates, and endpoint security * Maintain device inventory, lifecycle, and replacement planning

  3. Store Technology & Infrastructure * Personally oversee technology setup and support across all retail locations * Configure and troubleshoot POS systems, networking, WiFi, and security systems * Support store systems that rely on real-time sports-related data, including pricing, catalog updates, and display systems * Build and maintain store deployment playbooks * Ensure consistent, scalable infrastructure for new store openings

  4. Vendor & Partner Management * Manage MSP/MSSP partners with a hands-on understanding of their work * Oversee telecom, hardware, and SaaS vendors * Hold vendors accountable to SLAs, performance, and cost targets * Evaluate and implement new vendors when needed

  5. IT Governance & Process * Create and maintain IT policies, standards, and documentation * Support audit readiness and compliance requirements * Execute security-related controls in partnership with the vCISO

  6. Reliability & Business Continuity * Implement and maintain backups, redundancy, and recovery processes * Act as the operational lead during incidents or outages * Drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions

  7. Cross-Functional Enablement * Work directly with Operations, Merchandising, Finance, and Marketing * Ensure systems and tools support business workflows * Drive adoption and usability of internal technology systems
