Job description

As a Payment Integration Specialist at ING Bank, you will be the primary technical contact for clients integrating ING’s Payment Service Provider (PSP) solution into their online checkout systems. Working closely with Sales, Product and Engineering, you will guide merchant clients throughout the entire customer journey, from technical pre-sales and onboarding to Go-Live and post-implementation support. You will own the technical onboarding process, coordinate internal stakeholders, and ensure a seamless integration experience for ING’s Wholesale Banking clients.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical integrations and implementations from pre-sales through Go-Live.
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for merchant integration teams.
  • Own the complete customer onboarding lifecycle.
  • Coordinate internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Product teams on integrations, troubleshooting and technical documentation.
  • Provide technical consultancy during product exploration and implementation.
  • Monitor post-Go-Live performance and drive continuous improvements.
  • Facilitate communication between technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • Lead issue resolution and ensure stable operations for integrated clients.

Requirements

Must-have

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a technical integration, implementation or product support role.
  • Experience within the payments industry or with merchant commerce solutions.
  • Experience supporting Payment Service Providers (PSPs), payment gateways or acquirers.
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks and OAuth.
  • API knowledge is considered more important than programming languages.
  • Technical background with the ability to understand integrations and troubleshoot issues.
  • Experience owning customer onboarding and technical implementation processes.
  • Strong communication skills with both customers and internal technical teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluent English.

Nice-to-have

  • Experience with card payment concepts such as settlement, tokenization, disputes and transaction monitoring.
  • Sales engineering or technical account management experience.
  • Experience communicating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Knowledge of Java, Node.js, C#/.NET or Go.

Benefits & conditions

  • Competitive salary based on ITSync pay scale 10, with a maximum of € 6.000,00 gross a month.
  • Contract duration: 24 July 2026 to 1 August 2027, with option to extend
  • 36 hours per week
  • Competitive vacation scheme and holiday allowance
  • 13th month bonus and pension scheme
  • Hybrid working arrangement with home-office allowance and commuting support
  • Continuous professional development and career growth opportunities at ITSync
