Job description

  • Identify the key components and requirements of DVSAÂ’s corporate strategy for Enforcement plans in order to design and create the most appropriate technical roadside infrastructure solutions for the business.
  • As the senior subject matter expert for the end to end ANPR service, ensure ongoing service performance, which as key mission critical IT business systems, supports the AgencyÂ’s effective roadside enforcement
  • Lead on the identification, planning and installation of new ANPR and WIMS sites across GB
  • Proactively instigate the collation and input from the Enforcement Service Manager, project teams and the wider organisation in order to ensure ANPR supports the overall service objectives. This enables the role holder to identify and resolve current performance issues and provide potential solutions for the future.
  • Ensure accurate ANPR asset and Configuration Management Database (CMDB) to ensure compliance Highways England regulations
  • Train and mentor teams across DVSA and DS&T colleagues in ANPR technologies, their current use and future developments
  • Provide support to DVSA for the live ANPR service, carrying out both proactive and reactive management.
  • Execute own responsibilities effectively and in line with DVSA policies and processes, ensuring that daily tasks and activities are delivered against agreed objectives.
  • Demonstrate leadership by providing guidance to staff to support the delivery of objectives. Manage and engage with honesty and integrity, and upholding the reputation of the Agency, Department and Civil Service.

In addition, successful candidates must obtain Non-Police Personnel Vetting Level 3 (NPPV3) in order to fully carry out the role.

This vetting will be undertaken alongside your pre-employment checks if you are successful at application and interview stages.

Working hours, office attendance and travel requirements

Full time roles consist of 37 hours per week.

Whilst we welcome applications from those looking to work with us on a part time basis, there is a business requirement for the successful candidate to be able to work at least 30 hours per week.

Occasional travel to other offices and ANPR sites will be required, which may involve overnight stays.

This role is suitable for hybrid working, which is a non-contractual arrangement where a combination of workplace and home-based working can be accommodated subject to business requirements.

The expectation at present is a minimum of 60% of your working time a month will be spent at either your designated workplace (one of the locations cited in the advert) or, when required for business reasons, in another office/work location. There may be occasions where you are required to attend above the minimum expectation.

Requirements

About the company
