Job description

An early-stage, well-funded cryptocurrency startup (name under wraps) is preparing for public launch. We are building a lean engineering team from the ground up. We seek a Smart Contract Developer who can independently design, implement, and deploy secure blockchain protocols - bridging product requirements with on-chain reality., * Smart Contract Development: Design, write, test, and deploy Ethereum-compatible smart contracts (Solidity) or Solana programs (Rust). Implement token standards (ERC-20, ERC-721, ERC-1155) and custom logic as required.

  • Security & Best Practices: Write comprehensive unit and integration tests using Foundry/Hardhat. Implement re-entrancy guards, access controls, and emergency pause mechanisms. Prepare code for external auditing.
  • Deployment & Verification: Deploy contracts to testnet and mainnet. Verify source code on Etherscan or similar. Manage upgradeable proxies (UUPS/Transparent) where applicable.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Work directly with the founder and marketing lead to translate product requirements into gas-efficient, secure contract logic.
  • Team Building: As an early engineering hire, help define coding standards, review external contributions, and participate in interviewing future developers.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Version control?, * 1+ years of hands-on smart contract development with deployed code on Ethereum mainnet or equivalent L2 (Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, etc.). Provide contract addresses.

  • Deep understanding of EVM fundamentals (gas, storage, calldata, re-entrancy, front-running).
  • Proficiency with Solidity and at least one framework (Foundry, Hardhat, or Truffle).
  • Experience with OpenZeppelin libraries and contract upgrade patterns.
  • Ability to read and debug using block explorers and tracing tools.
  • Strong version control practices (Git).

Preferred (Not Required):

  • Rust experience for Solana or SVM chains.
  • Knowledge of DeFi protocols (Uniswap V2/V3, Aave, Compound forks).
  • Basic TypeScript/JavaScript for integration testing.
  • Previously participated in a formal smart contract audit.
