Senior Enterprise Architect

We’re looking for a Senior Enterprise Architect to shape and drive the strategic architecture that underpins UCL’s digital strategy. You’ll work across different areas of the university, initially focusing in the student domain, ensuring our technology landscape is robust, scalable, and aligned with our mission to deliver world-leading teaching and research.

This is a strategy-led role, where you’ll set architecture principles and standards, lead solution design, and govern change, while also experimenting with new technologies to benefit staff and students. You’ll have the opportunity to influence at the highest level and help modernise the digital foundations of a globally recognised university.

What you’ll bring:

• Broad experience operating across large, complex organisations, with the ability to understand business drivers, capabilities, and how technology can enable strategic goals
• Ability to define and communicate clear architecture principles, standards, and roadmaps
• Experience working across multiple IT disciplines (e.g., technical architecture, application development, infrastructure)
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and leadership skills, with confidence to influence senior leaders and build consensus
• Analytical mindset with the ability to see both the “big picture” and the detail
• Ability to quickly understand new technologies and apply them to evolving business needs
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms, integration patterns, and the full technology stack
• Strong communication, planning, and organisational skills
• Experience in leading communities of practice and facilitating knowledge sharing is a plus

Information Services Division (ISD) is the primary provider of IT services to UCL. We support and enhance learning, teaching, research and administrative processes by providing information- and technology-related services to over 50,000 staff and students of UCL and associated institutions.

Our ambition is to be the leading IT services group in the HE sector and we are growing our team’s capability in experience/UX, agile development, security, cloud, service management and partnering. We are modernising our technology foundations, digitising the processes of the university to transform experience for students and staff, and partnering across the university to drive differentiation in UCL education and research.

Within ISD, Architecture works broadly across UCL to understand the organization and its strategies. Analyzing gaps, deficiencies or opportunities then co-designing vision. Architecture ultimately works with the UCL delivery community to establish roadmaps to a common understanding of the future state.
