Job description
We’re looking for a Senior Enterprise Architect to help shape the future of UCL’s People, Money & Insight (PMI) change portfolio. This is a strategic role focused on enabling the university’s Digital Strategic Plan through architecture leadership across finance, HR, professional services, data, governance, and enterprise platforms.
You will work closely with senior leaders, product teams, and business stakeholders to define target architectures, technology roadmaps, and investment priorities that support UCL’s transformation ambitions. From ERP readiness to data-driven decision-making, compliance, and AI-enabled services, you’ll ensure that change initiatives align to a coherent long-term vision and deliver measurable organisational value.
This is an opportunity to influence major strategic decisions, modernise critical university services, and help create the digital foundations that enable UCL’s people and operations to thrive.
Requirements
What you’ll bring:
- Significant experience operating as an Enterprise Architect in a large, complex organisation.
- Ability to translate organisational strategy into architecture roadmaps, investment decisions, and delivery plans.
- Experience shaping business, application, data, and technology architectures across enterprise platforms and services.
- Strong understanding of enterprise applications, cloud services, integration patterns, data architecture, and AI-enabled capabilities.
- Experience supporting large-scale transformation programmes such as ERP, HR, Finance, Data, or Digital Modernisation initiatives.
- Ability to establish architecture principles, standards, governance, and decision-making frameworks.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the confidence to engage executives, business leaders, and delivery teams.
- A strategic mindset combined with the pragmatism to balance long-term direction with immediate delivery needs.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience building collaborative relationships and influencing without direct authority

Information Services Division (ISD) is the primary provider of IT services to UCL. We support and enhance learning, teaching, research and administrative processes by providing information- and technology-related services to over 50,000 staff and students of UCL and associated institutions.
Our ambition is to be the leading IT services group in the HE sector and we are growing our team’s capability in experience/UX, agile development, security, cloud, service management and partnering. We are modernising our technology foundations, digitising the processes of the university to transform experience for students and staff, and partnering across the university to drive differentiation in UCL education and research.
Within ISD, Architecture works broadly across UCL to understand the organization and its strategies. Analyzing gaps, deficiencies or opportunities then co-designing vision. Architecture ultimately works with the UCL delivery community to establish roadmaps to a common understanding of the future state.
