Job Summary: SVP, Infra Engineering (Mainframe Comms Systems Software Engineer) Location: Jersey City, NJ (Remote flexibility; preference for onsite presence 2x/week) About the Role Join our dynamic infrastructure engineering team as a senior leader, driving the modernization, stability, and strategic growth of our mainframe communications systems. As SVP, Infra Engineering, you will architect, administer, and enhance mission-critical mainframe environments that power global financial operations. This is a high-impact role for a hands-on Mainframe Systems Programmer ready to influence technology direction and collaborate across enterprise teams. Responsibilities - Own steady-state operations for complex mainframe environments, ensuring optimal performance and reliability - Administer, modernize, and maintain z/OS systems and mainframe communications, including software and hardware lifecycle management - Lead installation, support, and administration of core and ISV systems software

Requirements

using SMP/E and other mainframe tooling - Drive continuous improvements, automation, and innovation across infrastructure processes - Collaborate with data center, production, and application groups to deliver new solutions and enhance existing capabilities - Integrate operational processes, controls, and support procedures to ensure stability and compliance - Monitor system health, coordinate incident and problem resolution, and oversee maintenance activities - Guide and mentor technical teams, leading complex projects and transformation initiatives Required Skills and Experience - 10+ years of progressive IT experience, including senior-level mainframe systems programming (z/OS or MVS) - Deep expertise in z/OS, JCL, ISPF/TSO, SMP/E, and mainframe communications (VTAM, TCP/IP, IBM Connect:Direct) - Strong knowledge of mainframe security (ACF2, RACF, Top Secret) - Experience supporting software installation, OS-level support, and technical leadership - Familiarity with DB2, IMS, or CICS Preferred Skills - Financial services or securities industry experience - Hands-on with BMC AMI OPS tools or MainView; experience migrating from Broadcom tools (SYSVIEW) to BMC - Experience converting security platforms (Top Secret, ACF2 to RACF) - ITIL or ITSM expertise (Release, Change, CMDB) - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field Benefits - Executive-level career growth and leadership opportunities - Remote work flexibility with collaborative onsite culture in Jersey City - Influence technology strategy for mission-critical systems - Partner with top-tier engineering and business teams How to Apply Ready to make a significant impact in a global financial environment?
