Job description

The IT Network Manager is responsible for leading the Credit Union’s network operations, ensuring the security, reliability, performance, and strategic direction of the organization’s network infrastructure. This individual will oversee the network engineering team, manage vendor relationships, drive infrastructure initiatives, and ensure network operations align with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and information security standards.

This role is responsible for maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the Credit Union’s networked systems while leading operational excellence, project execution, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, coach, and develop the Network team.
  • Establish departmental priorities, performance expectations, and development plans.
  • Align network operations with IT strategy and business goals.

Network Operations

  • Oversee the administration, maintenance, support, and lifecycle management of:
  • Routers
  • Switches
  • Firewalls
  • Wireless infrastructure
  • VPN technologies
  • Communication platforms
  • Ensure high availability, scalability, and reliability of network services.

Infrastructure & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead the design, implementation, and enhancement of enterprise network systems.
  • Establish service standards, performance metrics, and operational KPIs.
  • Drive continuous improvement across network operations.

Security & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with security standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
  • Coordinate prevention, detection, response, and remediation of network incidents.
  • Participate in Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, and Incident Response planning.
  • Partner closely with Information Security and IT leadership.

Projects & Vendor Management

  • Lead network infrastructure projects, upgrades, and expansions.
  • Manage third-party vendors and technology partners.
  • Assist with departmental budgeting, capital planning, licensing, maintenance, and hardware investments.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of IT networking experience supporting medium to large enterprise environments.
  • 3+ years of leadership or management experience overseeing network engineering or infrastructure teams.
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • LAN/WAN
  • Routing & Switching
  • Firewalls
  • VPN
  • Wireless technologies
  • IDS/IPS
  • SD-WAN
  • SASE
  • Experience with:
  • Network planning and architecture
  • Implementation and deployment

  • Working knowledge of enterprise security controls, compliance, and risk management.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Network Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Certifications

  • One or more current networking certifications.
  • Advanced networking, management, and/or security certifications.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working within a financial institution or Credit Union.
  • Familiarity with regulated technology environments.
  • Knowledge of Credit Union products and services.

Our client is a well-established Credit Union focused on delivering secure, reliable, and innovative financial services. Their technology organization plays a critical role in supporting enterprise operations while maintaining high standards for security, compliance, and service delivery.

Following onboarding and training, this position transitions to a hybrid work schedule, providing a balance of on-site collaboration and remote flexibility.

Please Note: This is a hybrid position based in Oak Ridge, TN, with an on-site schedule Monday through Wednesday and remote work Thursday and Friday following the completion of the required on-site training period. At this time, we are unable to provide visa sponsorship or employment sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
