Software Engineer 2 - C++/RHEL (TS/SCI)

Rylex is hiring an Intermediate to Senior Software Engineer to support a Ground Solutions and Mission Support (GSMS) Software Integrated Project Team on a major national security space program. You’ll join a large, specialized team developing and sustaining mission operational software product lines and new capabilities for Next Generation Ground Systems and Ground Element Modernization, working 100% on-site in a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) in Redondo Beach, CA.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a C++ software developer in a fast-paced Agile team using Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) VMs, servers, and workstations

• Design, code, and unit test new software capabilities per Mathematical Algorithm Requirements (MARs)

• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve Discrepancy Reports (DRs)

• Collaborate with subject matter experts and senior engineers across multiple software subsystems

Bachelor’s in a STEM discipline plus 5-8 years of experience (Master’s plus 3-6 years, or PhD plus 1-4 years also qualify; 4 additional years of relevant SW experience may substitute for a degree)

• Active SSBI required at time of application, with ability to obtain SCI prior to start

• Advanced Object-Oriented programming skills and proficiency in C++

• Working knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)

• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills

• Must be a U.S. citizen

Preferred Qualifications

• DevSecOps test automation experience

• Additional languages: C, Java, Python, Perl

• Strong math/algorithms background

• Agile/Scrum experience; familiarity with Atlassian tools (Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket, Bamboo)

• Git experience in a Linux environment

• Active SCI clearance

$97 - $115 an hour - Full-time, Contract
