Cash Applications Specialist

• Reconcile bank accounts by meticulously comparing transactions to Explanations of Benefits (EOBs).
• Retrieve payment details directly from bank accounts and import them into our internal system.
• Identify and categorize incoming payments as either patient or insurance payor sources.
• Perform routine banking tasks to maintain day-to-day accuracy across all accounts.

Collections & Cash Application

• Monitor and process payments once they are entered into the system, ensuring timely application.
• Review EOBs to accurately match each payment to its corresponding claim or patient account.
• Investigate and research missing or unmatched payments and EOBs to ensure all receivables are fully accounted for.
• Follow up on discrepancies to support timely and accurate revenue cycle completion.
• Process refunds end-to-end, including working directly with the bank information (not just routing the task to the accounting or payroll departments).

• 2-3 years of experience with collections/follow up
• Banking and reconciliation experience
• Researching for missing payments/EOB knowledge
• MS Excel
• Familiarity of reading and following up on an EOB
• Month end close experience (this is crucial to this role as timely reconciliation is key)
• Experience with insurance portals (Availity, CMS, Humana, etc.)

$23 - $25 an hour - Contract
