Job description
We are seeking a Senior Database Management Specialist to join our team. You will provide advanced technical expertise in database management systems while ensuring secure, efficient data operations and robust backup and recovery processes. You will also lead database projects, manage resources, and provide guidance and supervision to support staff. This position is fully remote; however, it will require frequent travel to Fort Belvoir, VA., * DBMS Technical Expertise and Support: Delivers highly specialized knowledge in DBMS usage, configuration, and optimization to meet complex user and system requirements.
- DBMS Evaluation and Solution Recommendations: Assesses available DBMS products and recommends platforms that align with validated technical and business needs.
- Data Structure and Security Architecture: Defines and designs file organization, indexing methods, and security procedures tailored to specific applications and operational environments.
- Backup, Recovery, and Integrity Management: Develops and maintains database backup and recovery procedures, ensuring data integrity, security, and system recoverability across processing environments.
- Project and Resource Management: Leads the development of database projects, including planning, budgeting, and reallocating staff and technical resources for maximum organizational benefit.
- Training, Communication, and Staff Leadership: Prepares and delivers presentations on DBMS concepts, supervises daily activities of support staff, and provides directions to ensure effective team performance.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline
- A minimum of ten (10) years of related experience
Clearance Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must possess a DoD Secret clearance.
