Job description

This is a hands-on role. You will architect, deploy, and maintain multi-carrier bonded connectivity solutions end to end, and act as the technical bridge between our field operations and our carrier partners., * Architect and deliver multi-carrier network bonding solutions (link aggregation, WAN smoothing, hot failover) for field-deployed assets requiring sustained, high-quality connections.

  • Own the full deployment lifecycle of field networking infrastructure: site survey, installation, commissioning, monitoring, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Integrate and troubleshoot third-party cellular modems and routers, along with the VPN / WAN-smoothing / tunneling overlays that keep sessions alive across degraded links.
  • Manage technical relationships with major US network operators (AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile - including FirstNet, Frontline, and T-Priority programs): device certification, SIM/eSIM provisioning, data-plan structuring, and escalation.
  • Diagnose and resolve connectivity failures in challenging RF conditions (remote, mobile, high-density), where signal quality, latency, jitter, and packet loss are the primary adversaries.
  • Support cell-connected edge terminals and mobile/fleet vehicles, ensuring connection quality meets application requirements.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Within 30 days: You have conducted a full assessment of the existing connectivity solutions on Parallel’s vehicles/infrastructure and have created an immediate list of potential improvements, including changes to software and hardware configurations. You have drafted test plans to evaluate changes for improved connectivity.
  • Within 60 days: You have conducted field tests in real-world conditions to prove out configuration changes to improve the speed, reliability, and coverage of existing connectivity solutions. You have designed and are implementing field-deployed infrastructure to extend coverage out of the commercial coverage area and are rolling those into your test plans.
  • Within 90 days: You have deployed infrastructure out into active Parallel deployments and have proven its effectiveness in real-world conditions. You are making structural changes to the automated testing environments in the lab to replicate observed field conditions and close test coverage gaps in our connectivity suite.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with cellular networking (4G/LTE and 5G) and with OEM multi-carrier bonding platforms (e.g., Peplink SpeedFusion, Dejero, LiveU, TVU Networks, Haivision).
  • A verifiable track record of establishing reliable cellular connectivity in challenging, connectivity-hostile environments.
  • Established working relationships and direct experience with the major US network operators.
  • Career experience supporting cell-connected, field-deployed assets - edge terminals, mobile vehicles, or comparable remote units - with high connection-quality requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with third-party modems and with VPN / WAN-smoothing technologies (forward error correction, packet duplication, adaptive routing, failover).
  • Documented experience deploying and maintaining networking infrastructure in the field - not solely in a lab or data center.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with live or low-latency video streaming over bonded cellular (adaptive bitrate encoding, H.264/HEVC, SRT/RTMP, contribution workflows).
