Job description

The DevSecOps/Azure Cloud Engineer is responsible for the CI/CD pipeline, cloud infrastructure, and security posture supporting enterprise applications and services. This position maintains Azure DevOps build and release pipelines, administers Azure infrastructure, and supports secure software delivery practices, Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) generation, and remediation of security findings and Plans of Action & Milestones (POA&Ms)., The DevSecOps/Azure Cloud Engineer will:

  • Design, maintain, and enhance Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines, including Boards, build automation, release management, and deployment processes.
  • Administer Azure cloud infrastructure, including Virtual Machines, networking, storage, identity and access management, provisioning, configuration, monitoring, scaling, patching, and lifecycle management.
  • Implement and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions aligned with Azure Well-Architected Framework principles.
  • Support secure software delivery practices and maintain Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) artifacts in accordance with applicable federal guidance.
  • Coordinate Change Control Process (CCP) activities and support infrastructure-related change requests and deployments.
  • Support development and maintenance of security documentation, including system security plans, security assessment reports, contingency plans, and POA&M documentation.
  • Apply infrastructure patches, upgrades, and security fixes during approved maintenance windows and support emergency remediation efforts as required.
  • Manage Git/GitHub source control repositories, branching strategies, and release workflows for application code and infrastructure artifacts.
  • Monitor cloud environments and CI/CD processes to ensure system reliability, performance, and security compliance.
  • Collaborate with development, infrastructure, security, and program teams to support application delivery and operational objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field; Master’s degree preferred. Additional years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for education requirements.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • This position supports a U.S. federal government program. Candidates must be U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, or lawful permanent residents and be able to successfully complete any required federal background investigation.

  • Minimum five (5) years of DevSecOps, cloud engineering, or infrastructure engineering experience utilizing Microsoft Azure.

  • Experience maintaining Appian installations in self-managed customer environments.

  • Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps (Boards, CI/CD pipelines, build and release management), Azure Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Azure Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), Azure Well-Architected Framework principles, and Azure administration.

  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as ARM Templates, Terraform, or Bicep.

  • Experience with .NET/.NET Core development, including backend services, RESTful APIs, and enterprise application development.

  • Working experience administering JBoss, IIS, and Windows Server environments.

  • Experience with Git/GitHub source control and scripting/automation technologies.

  • Familiarity with NIST security control implementation and federal system security documentation requirements.

  • Strong troubleshooting, automation, and cloud operations skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Microsoft Azure certification (AZ-104, AZ-400, AZ-500, or equivalent).

  • Experience supporting Appian deployments in Azure-hosted environments.

  • Prior experience supporting federal DevSecOps environments, including SBOM generation and secure software delivery requirements.

  • Experience implementing DevSecOps, CI/CD, and cloud modernization initiatives within enterprise environments.
