Job description

We are seeking a highly experienced IT Manager to lead and execute all aspects of our information technology and security operations. This is a hands-on leadership role within a two-person IT department, requiring the ability to perform everything from Tier 1 user support to advanced infrastructure and cybersecurity management., IT Leadership & Operations

  • Lead all day-to-day IT operations as part of a two-person IT team
  • Perform IT tasks at any level, including Tier 1 support, as operational needs require

Support and maintain approximately:

  • 60 computers
  • 60 mobile phones
  • Oversee all IT procurement, purchasing, inventory management, asset disposition, and turn-in
  • Manage employee onboarding and offboarding, including account provisioning and equipment handling

Systems & Infrastructure

  • Microsoft 365 / Office 365
  • Azure
  • SharePoint
  • Exchange
  • Active Directory
  • Microsoft Intune
  • Proxmox virtualization
  • Manage backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning
  • Maintain and support:
  • Approximately a dozen internet circuits and service providers
  • Numerous site-to-site and remote access VPNs

Network Security & Cybersecurity

Design, configure, manage, and monitor:

  • Firewalls
  • Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS)
  • Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS)
  • Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms
  • Implement network segmentation, access controls, and security policies
  • Monitor, analyze, and respond to cybersecurity events and incidents
  • Ensure systems meet cybersecurity best practices and regulatory requirements

Physical Security Systems

Day-to-day oversight of:

  • Building access control systems
  • Intrusion detection systems
  • Surveillance / CCTV systems
  • Coordinate physical and logical security controls to maintain a secure facility

Security & Compliance Leadership

  • Ensure compliance with applicable frameworks (e.g., NIST, DFARS, CMMC)
  • Maintain security documentation, policies, and procedures

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship (required for security clearance eligibility)
  • Active security clearance or ability to obtain one
  • Proven experience as an IT Manager, Senior Systems Administrator, or similar role
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
  • Microsoft 365, Azure, Exchange, SharePoint
  • Active Directory and Intune
  • Firewalls, IPS/IDS, SIEM
  • VPNs and secure networking
  • Experience supporting both enterprise infrastructure and end users
  • Willingness and ability to perform Tier 1 through senior-level IT work
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in government contracting or cleared environments
  • Relevant certifications (CISSP, Security+, CCNP, Microsoft, etc.)

This is not a large-team or purely strategic role. The successful candidate will be comfortable:

  • Being hands-on daily
  • Wearing multiple hats
  • Performing technical work at any level
  • Operating in a security-sensitive environment with high accountability, * Bachelor’s (Preferred)
