Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Technology Operations Manager to lead and oversee our organisation’s technological infrastructure and operations. This pivotal role involves managing complex IT systems, ensuring information and network security, and driving strategic initiatives to optimise performance and resilience. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive technical expertise, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, ensuring that our technology environment supports business objectives effectively., * Lead the management of server infrastructure, including Windows Server, Linux, VMware vSphere, and AWS environments.

  • Oversee network security protocols, including firewall configurations, Cisco routers, LAN/WAN support, and remote access solutions.
  • Develop and implement disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity in the event of system failures or cyber incidents.
  • Manage systems engineering projects related to network infrastructure upgrades and system optimisation initiatives.
  • Utilise tools such as SolarWinds for network monitoring and management, ensuring optimal performance and early detection of issues.
  • Administer Active Directory, DHCP, IIS, SQL Server, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and organisational tools like ServiceNow and Jira.
  • Supervise technical support teams providing desktop support and network support across the organisation.
  • Coordinate project management activities using ITIL best practices to deliver projects on time and within scope.
  • Analyse system performance data to identify areas for improvement; implement solutions to enhance efficiency and security.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in implementing new technologies while managing organisational change effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with information security standards and maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging cybersecurity threats.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in server management, network engineering, information security, and systems architecture.
  • Strong knowledge of network security measures including firewalls, Cisco routers, LAN/WAN configurations, VPNs, and Azure/AWS cloud platforms.
  • Demonstrable expertise in disaster recovery planning and implementation.
  • Extensive experience with VMware vSphere, Microsoft Windows Server (including Active Directory), Linux systems, SharePoint, SQL Server, IIS, DHCP, IIS, vSphere management tools such as SolarWinds.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies aligned with ITIL standards; certification is advantageous.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Strong leadership qualities with supervisory experience overseeing technical teams or departments.
  • Exceptional communication skills to liaise effectively with technical teams and non-technical stakeholders alike.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data sets for strategic decision-making.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), or AWS certifications are preferred but not mandatory.
