Job description

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior IT Infrastructure Manager to lead our organisation’s information technology systems and infrastructure. The successful candidate will oversee the planning, implementation, and maintenance of complex IT networks and systems, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability. This role requires strong leadership capabilities, technical expertise across a broad spectrum of IT disciplines, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The Senior IT Infrastructure Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping our organisation’s technological future while maintaining operational excellence., * Lead the design, deployment, and management of enterprise-wide IT infrastructure including servers, networks, and data centres.

  • Oversee server management activities, including configuration, optimisation, and security of Windows Server, Linux systems, and cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.
  • Ensure robust information security protocols are in place to safeguard organisational data against cyber threats; manage network security measures including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Develop disaster recovery plans and business continuity strategies to minimise downtime and data loss.
  • Manage network infrastructure components such as Cisco routers, LAN/WAN configurations, DHCP, IIS, SharePoint, and remote access software.
  • Supervise technical support teams providing desktop support and network support across the organisation.
  • Utilise tools like SolarWinds, vSphere, VMware, and ServiceNow for monitoring system performance and incident management.
  • Implement ITIL best practices for service management; oversee project management activities ensuring timely delivery within scope.
  • Analyse system performance metrics to identify areas for optimisation; generate reports using Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint for executive presentations.
  • Lead a team of engineers and technicians; supervise daily operations while fostering professional development through training programmes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop strategic plans for network engineering projects aligned with organisational goals.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in server management (Windows Server, Linux) and systems engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of information security principles and network security practices.
  • Proven expertise in disaster recovery planning and implementation.
  • Proficiency with network infrastructure components such as Cisco routers, WAN/LAN configurations, DHCP, IIS, SQL Server (including Microsoft SQL Server), SharePoint, Azure cloud services, VMware vSphere.
  • Familiarity with remote access software solutions and firewall configuration.
  • Experience with project management methodologies; adept at managing multiple concurrent projects using tools like Jira or ServiceNow.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets to inform decision-making processes.
  • Leadership qualities with supervising experience; excellent organisational skills combined with effective communication skills.
  • Technical support experience across diverse environments; strong computer networking background including Active Directory management and network engineering principles.
  • Competence in utilisation of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for documentation and reporting purposes.
