Backend and Cloud Software Engineer

This position is for a Backend and Cloud Software Engineer dedicated to the development of cloud-based backend systems for next-generation connected vehicle and mobility service applications. The role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable microservices and APIs leveraging Java and Amazon Web Services (AWS). Key duties include ensuring reliable data communication between vehicle terminals, frontend applications, and cloud environments, as well as resolving performance bottlenecks and system incidents., Responsible for overseeing, participating in and performing, but not limited to, the following tasks:

• Design, develop, and maintain highly scalable, cloud-based backend systems and microservices for connected car applications.
• Design and implement robust APIs to ensure seamless data communication between vehicles, frontend applications, and the cloud.
• Estimate development effort and deliver high-quality results within project timelines.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software bugs, system incidents, and performance bottlenecks.
• Collaborate closely with engineers in Japan and North America to drive project success.
• Provide technical guidance and support to team members as needed.
• Prepare and present progress reports, and actively contribute in team discussions.

• 5 years of professional engineering experience in backend system or cloud application development.
• Strong proficiency in Java and practical experience with AWS (Mandatory).
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent bilingual communication skills in Japanese and English (both written and spoken).

Preferred (Big Plus):

• Experience with Spring Boot, Microservices architecture, or RESTful APIs.
• Experience in high-traffic distributed systems, IoT platforms, telematics, or connected car services.
