Job description

We are seeking an experienced Application Programmer with strong ETL development expertise to join our data engineering team. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on experience with Informatica PowerCenter, UNIX scripting, SQL and PL/SQL, and API integrations. You will design and build complex data mappings and workflows, optimize performance, and deliver reliable data movement across diverse sources including flat files, RDBMS, Hive, and REST APIs. You will coordinate with a distributed team, create test cases, perform unit testing, and provide regular status updates to stakeholders. MuleSoft proficiency is desired., * Design, develop, and maintain complex ETL workflows using Informatica PowerCenter.

  • Create robust data mappings to ingest data from flat files, RDBMS, Hive, and REST APIs.
  • Develop UNIX scripts to support automation and ETL operations.
  • Perform performance tuning of sources, targets, mappings, and SQL queries.
  • Write complex SQL and PL/SQL, including functions, views, and materialized views.
  • Develop test cases and execute unit testing to ensure quality deliverables.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with a distributed team and communicate progress to management.
  • Support API integrations, with emphasis on MuleSoft where applicable.

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on proficiency with Informatica PowerCenter for ETL development.
  • Expertise in performance tuning of targets, sources, mappings, and SQL queries.
  • Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL, including functions and complex query development, and experience creating views and materialized views.
  • Strong UNIX command line and shell scripting skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and deliver regular status updates.
  • Effective communication and coordination skills for distributed teams.

Preferred Skills:

  • MuleSoft integration experience and familiarity with API technologies.
  • Source control with SVN or Bitbucket.
  • CI/CD tools such as IBM UBuild, Jenkins, IBM UDeploy, or Ansible.
  • Autosys scheduling experience.
  • Data warehouse project experience and strong data analysis skills.
  • Python programming and Tableau or similar reporting tools.
