ETL Developer

The Office of Performance Analysis and Integrity manages and enhances the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) which resides on one Oracle M8 Supercluster database and thirteen application servers., Our team provides the technical services required to sustain EDW applications to include Project Management, Data Warehouse Management, Advanced Analytics, Informatica Power Center, Tableau Server Administration/Tableau Desktop Administration, Technical Collaboration Support, Lessons Learned, Executive Orders and Special Projects, Architectural Enhancement, and Cloud Migration. We also provide management, enhancement, integration, implementation, maintenance, modernization, and infrastructure support for EDW applications as well as enhancement and maintenance of business intelligence capabilities and predictive analytics.

• Large databased envt - The EDW system environment is comprised of three core elements, each of which are defined below 5-10 years Informatica experience.
• The EDW hardware (EDW-H) currently consists of one Oracle M8 Supercluster database and thirteen (13) application servers that are configured to operate on the Windows, Linux and UNIX platforms.

The EDW Database (EDW-D) and Tools consists of approximately 442 schemas (Transactional Snapshots and Star Schemas) and 85,029 tables which are updated on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis as required to meet the business community’s requirements. The EDW-D environment also includes the tools leveraged to develop the reports such as Oracle Databases, GoldenGate, APEX, OBIEE, Tableau, Informatica, PowerBI, SAS, C#, .NET, etc., * A Senior ETL Developer has min of 10 years experience and IT experience in ETL informatica development and all phases of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including Business Requirement Analysis, Application designing, Development, Implementations and Testing of Data warehousing and Database business systems.

Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, * Excellent experience in designing and development of ETL Methodology using Informatica PowerCenter 10.5, 10.4. Experience in Performance tuning at source side and target side. Perform the performance tuning on SQL query. Having experience in working with Postgres, SQL Server 2012/2014, and ORACLE databases. Worked extensively in design and analysis of Requirements, Development, Testing and Production deployment. Having experience in design and managing complex ETL workflows. Expert in writing SQL queries using multiple databases like ORACLE, SQL Server, Postgres etc. Extensive knowledge of Informatica tuning and SQL tuning. Experience in integration of various data sources into staging area. Extensive experience with Data Extraction, Transformation, and Loading (ETL) from Multiple Sources. Perform data profiling, cleansing, and validation of source data. Designed and developed complex mappings, tasks and workflows and tuned it. Experience in handling of huge volume data and tuning it. Perform root cause analysis/troubleshooting on any code issues. Complete ETL development within timeframes. Perform QA functions for the ETL application, including ensuring that unit and integration test plans are developed and executed. Provide code migration instructions in standard documentation. Experience in Debugging and Performance tuning of targets, sources, mappings and sessions in Informatica. Streamline ETL procedures to improve efficiency and cut down on processing time. Reconcile the data according to requirement with different functionality. Experience in optimizing the Mappings and implementing the complex business rules by creating re-usable transformations. Experience in Performance tuning of ETL process and reduced the execution time for huge volumes of data for a company merger projects. Heavily created user defined functions, reusable transformations, look-ups. Working experience in Agile and Waterfall methodologies. Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate effectively with executive and management team, having strong analytical, problem-solving skills. Basis understanding and experience on Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS.)

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in ETL development, preferably with Informatica PowerCenter.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, architectures, and processes.
• Proficient in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL).
• Experience with data modeling and data architecture principles.
• Familiarity with cloud data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery) is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
