Job description

Seeking motivated, dependable individuals to join our Technology Services team during the summer months. This temporary position provides hands-on experience supporting the technology infrastructure of a K-12 school district. The Summer IT Support Technician will assist with preparing devices for the upcoming school year, deploying and maintaining technology equipment, and providing technical support under the direction of district technology staff., * Prepare, configure, and inventory student and staff laptops, Chromebooks, tablets, and other technology devices.

  • Install software, operating system updates, and security patches.
  • Assist with device imaging, setup, and deployment.
  • Troubleshoot basic hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.
  • Replace or upgrade computer components and peripherals.
  • Organize, label, and maintain technology inventory.
  • Install and relocate classroom technology, including computers, monitors, printers, and interactive displays.
  • Assist with summer campus technology projects.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed using the district’s help desk or inventory system.
  • Follow district policies regarding technology, data security, and confidentiality.
  • Perform other technology-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

This is an excellent opportunity for college students pursuing information technology or computer science degrees, recent graduates, or individuals interested in gaining practical IT experience., * Basic knowledge of Windows, ChromeOS, Microsoft Office, and computer hardware.

  • Ability to troubleshoot common technical issues.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable transportation to district facilities., * Experience repairing or deploying computers or Chromebooks.
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace for Education or Microsoft 365.
  • Knowledge of basic networking concepts.
  • Previous customer service or technical support experience., * Lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Bend, stoop, climb ladders, and work under desks or in equipment closets.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
