Job description

We are supporting a technology modernization initiative for a leading organization in the food service industry. The team is seeking a senior Full Stack Java Developer to support the design, development, and enhancement of enterprise applications that drive core business operations.

This is a backend-focused role working within a team of approximately 15 developers across onshore and offshore locations. In addition to hands-on development, the consultant will work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements, participate in application design, and coordinate development activities with offshore resources.

The environment is built on modern Java technologies and is actively exploring AI-driven capabilities within business applications, making this a strong opportunity for candidates who have experience integrating AI or machine learning solutions into enterprise systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather and refine business requirements with stakeholders and translate requirements into technical solutions

  • Participate in application architecture and solution design discussions

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications utilizing Java 21 and Spring Boot 3

  • Develop and support RESTful APIs, backend services, and business logic

  • Contribute to front-end development efforts using Angular

  • Coordinate development activities and technical deliverables with offshore team members

  • Support integration of AI-powered capabilities and machine learning solutions within enterprise applications

  • Conduct code reviews and promote software engineering best practices

  • Troubleshoot production and application issues across the development lifecycle

  • Collaborate with QA, product, and business teams to ensure successful delivery

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional software development experience

  • Strong Java development background, including modern Java and Spring Boot frameworks

  • Experience building and supporting enterprise-grade backend applications

  • Angular development experience

  • Experience gathering business requirements and participating in technical design activities

  • Experience working with distributed or offshore development teams

  • Strong communication and stakeholder-facing skills

  • Experience with APIs, microservices, and modern application architecture

Preferred Experience

  • 2+ years of experience integrating AI or machine learning capabilities into business applications

  • Experience with cloud platforms and containerized application environments

  • Familiarity with Agile delivery practices

  • Knowledge of application security best practices
