Job description

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will:

  • Support the full systems engineering lifecycle from concept through to customer acceptance.
  • Develop system requirements, architectures and technical solutions.
  • Plan and support integration, verification and validation activities.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver projects on time and to a high standard.
  • Produce technical documentation, specifications and engineering reports.
  • Identify and manage technical risks while supporting customers and mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements

We’re looking for an engineer with experience in systems engineering and product development who has:

  • Experience in systems design, integration and testing across the product lifecycle.
  • A good understanding of software, electronics and mechanical engineering principles.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work with customers and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience producing technical documentation and managing engineering activities.
  • A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • A full UK driving licence and eligibility to obtain UK Security Clearance.

Desirable Experience

Experience in any of the following would be advantageous:

  • Radar, RF or defence systems.
  • Communications protocols such as RS232, RS485, TCP/IP or CANbus.
  • EMC testing, electronic fault finding and verification to industry or military standards.
  • Leading engineering work packages, design reviews or multidisciplinary teams.
  • Membership of a recognised professional engineering institution., Degree qualified in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
