Infrastructure SQL Engineer

To deliver SQL database administration and infrastructure support, ensuring the successful build, migration, maintenance, and decommissioning of SQL Server environments in line with project and operational requirements., * Build, configure, and administer SQL Server databases.

• Support SQL Server upgrades, migrations, backups, restores, and decommissioning activities.
• Perform quality assurance checks and resolve post-build or migration issues.
• Support application migrations to new infrastructure, data centres, and cloud environments.
• Work with infrastructure and security teams to deliver database solutions.
• Follow change, incident, and problem management processes.

• Strong experience administering Microsoft SQL Server (2016-2025).
• Experience with Always On Availability Groups, Windows Clustering, and other HADR technologies.
• Knowledge of SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, VMware, and PowerShell.
• Experience with SQL Server upgrades, backup and recovery, and database migrations.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes, including Change and Incident Management.
• Experience using BMC Remedy/Helix.

Desirable

• Active Directory, Commvault, and SCOM.
• Jira and Confluence.
• Data centre and cloud migration experience.
• Power BI knowledge.
