Job description

  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows and/or Linux servers.
  • Monitor server performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
  • Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis; upgrade administrative tools and utilities.
  • Perform system backups and recovery.
  • Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and other server roles.
  • Maintain system security through access controls, firewalls, and antivirus.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to servers.
  • Document system configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with network administrators and security teams to ensure high availability and secure infrastructure.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to end users and junior IT staff.

Requirements

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Server Administrator to maintain, upgrade, and manage our servers and network infrastructures. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in server management, system architecture, security best practices, and troubleshooting methodologies., + Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

  • 3+ years of experience as a Server Administrator or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux).
  • Experience with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Familiarity with backup and recovery software and strategies.
  • Experience with scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals., + Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Windows Server, CompTIA Server+, Red Hat Certified System Administrator).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds).
  • Knowledge of ITIL practices and ticketing systems. Soft Skills:

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and documentation abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
